Retiree Plans Overview

Oxy provides retiree medical and dental benefits to eligible retirees and their dependents.

Who's Eligible

Generally, you are eligible for retiree medical and dental benefits if you:

Are age 55 or older and
Have 10 or more years of Oxy service.

If you enroll, you may enroll your eligible dependents

Check your plan's summary plan description (SPD) for other eligibility requirements that may apply. See the Oxy Retiree Medical Plan SPD if you are under age 65 and not eligible for Medicare, or not eligible for the Oxy Medicare Advantage PPO Plan. Retiree Options

Oxy offers retiree medical and dental coverage along with discounts on dental, hearing and vision services.

Retiree Medical

Your retiree medical options are based on your and/or your dependents' eligibility for Medicare. As a result, you and your dependents may be in different retiree medical plans.

Age 65 and older, eligible for Medicare	Oxy Medicare Advantage PPO Plan	You may enroll in the Oxy Medicare Advantage PPO Plan, through Aetna if you meet the following requirements: You must have a physical U.S. address. If you live outside the U.S, you are not eligible for this plan, but will be eligible for the Oxy Retiree Medical Plan. You must be enrolled in Medicare Part A and Part B. You must provide OxyLink Employee Service Center with your Medicare ID number. For details, see Oxy Medicare Advantage PPO Plan or go to the Oxy-Aetna Medicare website.
Under age 65, not eligible for Medicare	Oxy Retiree Medical Plan	You may enroll in the Oxy Retiree Medical Plan, with prescription drug coverage through Express Scripts. You and your dependents will remain in this plan until becoming eligible for Medicare. At that time, if you meet plan requirements, you and/or your dependents will be eligible for the Oxy Medicare Advantage PPO Plan. See Retiree Medical Plan for details.
	BCBS of Western NY	Western New York regional HMO, available only to retirees who retired before December 31, 2015. Select a primary care physician to coordinate all your care. Covered medical services typically must be received from a specific network of doctors, hospitals and other medical providers. You’ll remain in this plan until becoming eligible for Medicare. At that time, if you meet plan requirements, you and/or your dependents will be eligible for the Oxy Medicare Advantage PPO Plan. See Western New York Medical Option Overview for details.

Oxy Medicare Advantage PPO Plan

You may enroll in the Oxy Medicare Advantage PPO Plan, through Aetna if you meet the following requirements:

You must have a physical U.S. address. If you live outside the U.S, you are not eligible for this plan, but will be eligible for the Oxy Retiree Medical Plan.
You must be enrolled in Medicare Part A and Part B.
You must provide OxyLink Employee Service Center with your Medicare ID number.

Under age 65, not eligible for Medicare

Oxy Retiree Medical Plan

You may enroll in the Oxy Retiree Medical Plan, with prescription drug coverage through Express Scripts.
You and your dependents will remain in this plan until becoming eligible for Medicare. At that time, if you meet plan requirements, you and/or your dependents will be eligible for the Oxy Medicare Advantage PPO Plan.

BCBS of Western NY

Western New York regional HMO, available only to retirees who retired before December 31, 2015.
Select a primary care physician to coordinate all your care.
Covered medical services typically must be received from a specific network of doctors, hospitals and other medical providers.
You’ll remain in this plan until becoming eligible for Medicare. At that time, if you meet plan requirements, you and/or your dependents will be eligible for the Oxy Medicare Advantage PPO Plan.

Your Costs

Oxy sets a base contribution rate for retiree medical coverage. Your cost will be one to four times the retiree base contribution, depending on your combined age and service at the time of your retirement and your Medicare eligibility status. See 2023 Retiree Health Care Rates.

Retiree Dental

The Retiree Dental Plan promotes and encourages preventive dental care and provides benefits for services that are essential to the proper care of your teeth. The plan is administered by Aetna. It offers significant cost savings when you use providers in Aetna’s Dental PPO/PDN with PPO II network. See Retiree Dental Plan for more details.

Dental/Hearing/Vision Discounts

If you enroll in an Aetna Retiree Medical or Dental plan, you can participate in these discount programs:

Aetna Hearing and Vision Discount Program
Vital Savings by Aetna. As an alternative to the Retiree Dental Plan, you can enroll in this program which provides discounts on dental care.
